Math D is a remedial special education math course working at the 7-9th grade math level.  We use Transmath orange level books. 

 

Grading:  I do not believe in giving zeros as  it creates an unfair deficit for kids.  So, when you look at their grades you will see a score of 50% and missing checked.  This means they have not completed the assignment, for what ever reason.  It is still a failing score but the score does not unfairly calculate their grade.  Any student that actually fails an assignment will receive a 59.  This tells you they actually did the assignment but their grade refelcts they do not understand the assignment or concept and they receive a score of 59, still a failing grade but lets me and you know that they did the assignment.
