Grading System:
The teacher will follow the school’s grading percentage policy (see student handbook).
Items that will be graded are:
1. Tests/ Final exam 3. Assignments 5. Labs 7. Projects
2. Daily Quizzes/ Quizzes (pop) 4. Notebooks 6. Participation
All of the above items will be weighted equally in determining a student’s percentage.
The semester grade is figured by using the cumulative points possible and not an average of the two quarter grades.
Grading Procedures:
All assignments will be given a due date, at which time the assignment(s) is/are expected to be neatly completed and turned in. Late assignments will not be accepted. A late assignment = work which is turned in after the announced due date & time. This does not apply to excused absences. Make-up work for excused absences (only) will follow the school’s policy (see student handbook).
A student can retake* a test if the following conditions are met:
· received a grade of less than a 70% on the first edition of that test
· has seeked tutoring for 2 hours minimum (for each retake) with the tutoring provided by myself only
· test can only be taken in front of myself at a specifically set time.
· the student has all assignments and labs turned in.
* retake test(s) and make-up test(s) are not necessarily the same as the original test.
The retake test score will be averaged with the original test score.
** The teacher may use his option of letting students who qualify, use their notebooks on one, some, or all tests (except the final). In order for a student to qualify, they must have completed and turned in all assignments and labs on time for that particular unit on which the test’s is covering. At the time of printing, because of some new technology that may become available, there may be some modifications to my retake procedures and policy.
