DRIVER EDUCATION PROGRAM 

SESSION 3 & SESSION 4 INFORMATION 

How to get your required driver’s permit from DMV:

The student and his/her parent or guardian together must take the following items to the DMV in order to secure a driver’s permit.  Please inform the clerk at DMV that the permit will need to be sent to Caldwell High School program.  If the student’s last name is different from that of the parent/guardian, appropriate records should be made available that provides proof of the parent/guardian’s relationship to the student.  (Step-parents cannot be liability signers unless legal adoption papers from the court are provided).

  •      A “Verification of Compliance” form from the school. Students can secure this from the school office.
  •      An original, state certified birth certificate. Certificate must be issued from the state where you were born.  If official, it will have a raised or embossed seal on it.  Copies of certificates will not be accepted.  Hospital certificates will not be accepted.  Students must be fourteen years six months (14 ½) years old on or before the day they purchase a drivers permit.
  •      Photo Identification. Both parent and student must provide photo ID.  (student activity card, yearbook, military card, etc.)
  •      Social Security number
  •      $26.50 to pay for permit.

The DMV will issue to you a driver’s permit “receipt” with student DL#.  The DL# will be required to register online.  The receipt is your “ticket” into the program.  You must bring it to the Parent/Student Meeting.

CLASS FEE:  $225.00 To be paid at Mandatory Meeting.  CSD Students may qualify for fast forward funding.

Drivers Ed is a serious class and you must be able to devote the required time to successfully complete it.  

Do NOT sign up for these sessions if you will miss any in-person class dates!  This includes athletics and other school activities.  The remainder of the classwork must be completed online during that week. 

We allow our drive instructors to create their own driving schedules.  They will contact each of you individually with a schedule.   Please be flexible.

SESSION #3 CHS   Jan 23 – Mar 17, 2023    60 Openings

Mandatory parent/student meeting will be Wednesday, January 18th from 6-7 p.m. at Jefferson Middle School.

Class will be mandatory and held at CHS every Monday & Tuesday 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.   Tardiness will not be accepted.  Permits Awarded tentatively on March 17th at 6 p.m. 

SESSION #4 MARSING  Apr. 7th  – May 22nd  2023    30 Openings  Registration Opens January 2nd

Mandatory parent/student meeting will be Monday, April 3rd at 6 p.m. at Marsing High School.

Class will be mandatory and held at MHS/MMS every Friday 7:30 - 9:00 a.m.  Tardiness will not be accepted. 

Class Dates are:  April 7, 14, 21, 28, May 5, 12.   

Permits Awarded on Monday, May 22nd

SESSION #4 CSHS  Apr. 10th  – May 22nd  2023   30 Openings   Registration Opens January 2nd

Mandatory parent/student meeting will be Thursday, April 6th from 6-7 p.m. at Jefferson Middle School.

Class will be mandatory and held at CSHS every Monday & Tuesday 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.   Tardiness will not be accepted.  Permits Awarded tentatively on Monday, May 22nd.
