Rebecca Groeblinghoff (Chavarria) was born and raised in Caldwell, Idaho. She graduated from Caldwell High School in 2009, and then from College of Idaho in 2015 with a Bachelor of Sciences with a Music Education endorsement, emphasis on strings.
Rebecca grew up constantly involved in music. She began taking piano at the age of 9, and added violin and cello and the age of 10. She played cello in advanced orchestras at Syringa Middle School under the direction of Peggy Miller, and continued into Advanced Orchestra and Chambers at CHS under Gini Rosandick's direction. At the time, she also played as an assistant and principal cellist for the Treasure Valley Community College Symphony (where she won Performer of the Year in 2010).
At the College of Idaho, she continued the cello performance with Sam Smith, and studied Music Composition, Child and Adolescent Psychology, and Human Biology. In 2015, she won the award for String Player of the Year.
Currently, Rebecca serves the CHS Orchestra program as full-time director. She has assisted events such as All-State and All-Northwest, and continues to collaborate with other professional musicians in education as well as performance endeavors.
Rebecca enjoys painting, drawing, cleaning the house, managing a film production company, and a good book. She lives in Caldwell with her son, Adam, her husband, Zach Groeblinghoff, and their good boy (dog), Zeus.
